Debate Club

Men, you need Debate Club

Who me?

Yes, sir. We’re talking to you. You need Debate Club.

The motto of the debate club is: Fides Quarens Intellectum, or  “faith seeking understanding.”

Why? Well, for over 2,000 years that has been an ongoing debate about Jesus Christ, His divinity and what we need to do to “know, love and serve Him.” And that debate continues into the present age. And you need to be a part of that debate. As Saint Peter tells us in his First Epistle, “But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts, being ready always to satisfy every one that asketh you a reason of that hope which is in you. But with modesty and fear, having a good conscience: that whereas they speak evil of you, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.”

And that’s where Debate Club comes in. As men, we can prepare for this debate together in a setting that also promotes fellowship while enjoying good food and drink.  We’ll meet at local parishes in the Tidewater area on a Tuesday night around 7pm and end no later than 10pm.

And be sure to check out our archived events as well.
